Scoil Naomh Fionán is an Active School. We participate in soccer, football, hurling/camogie and athletics competitions both within Inishowen, Donegal and nationally.

Every Friday is an Active School’s day, with the children participating in a range of activities organised by teachers. As part of the Active Schools Programme the children also participate in ‘Walk on Wednesday (WOW)’ and ‘Cycle on Wednesday (COW).’ Active Schools Week takes place in the summer term and involves weeklong activities for the children.

Gaelic coaching is provided by the local club and takes place every Tuesday, whilst children in third class attend an eight week course of swimming lessons each year.

Children from First class to Sixth class have enjoyed five weeks of cycling. Many thanks to Fergus and Gemma for helping everyone to develop their skills - balancing, braking and stopping, cycling the plank, turning corners.
